This is the letter I sent you a few weeks ago:

This company made an energy purchasing mistake that cost them $250,000… and it could have easily been avoided.

(Don’t let this happen to you.)

If you work with an energy broker, or you’re planning to, or even if you purchase your energy in-house, please read this short, 2-page letter carefully—it contains valuable information that can help you avoid COSTLY mistakes.

This might sound unbelievable, but it’s true:

A company was using an energy broker—who was purchasing energy on their behalf, and the energy broker made a mistake.

That mistake cost this company $250,000.

In other words, because of this energy broker’s mistake, this company had to pay $250,000 more for their energy than they would have if this mistake wasn’t made.

The crazy thing is—IT WAS A SIMPLE CLERICAL ERROR!

The energy broker made a mistake with the start date for the company’s new energy contract, which created a one month gap between the company’s contracts, which ended up exposing them to extreme market volatility.

The end result was: the company ended up overpaying their electric by $250,000… because of a simple clerical error the energy broker made.

NOW… this “start-date” mistake may not have happened to you, but energy brokers make these kinds of mistakes more than you’d think.

And there are other mistakes they can make too... and many of them can end up costing your company lots of money.

Here are some examples of other costly mistakes energy brokers make:

  1. Missing a “New Regulation Price Add-On Clause” in your contract

  2. Forgetting to submit the paperwork to set your proper tax status and rate

  3. Missing a “Liquidated Damages For Material Change Clause” in your contract

  4. Misinterpreting “Pass Through Clauses” in your contract

If you’d like to learn more about these mistakes (so you can protect your company), or if you need some energy-related advice, or have questions about your energy contracts, the energy markets, or anything at all, just let me know—I’d be glad to help.

Feel free to reach out to me anytime—my information is just below.

Sincerely,

Shira Parnes
